"We estimated Diya Aur Baati to get 6.3 TRPs this week," says Kanica Maheshwari

Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt Ltd’s Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus is ruling the TRP charts since the last few months. It is now one of the most celebrated shows on small screen. All in all, the show has set a record for itself. Seems the makers know very well what audiences want in a daily soap and that’s the reason why the show has managed to garner 5.8 TRPs this week. The achieved rating is considered to be the highest number among the competition of the daily soaps. When we contacted Kanica Maheshwari aka Meenakshi, who plays the negative lead in the show, to congratulate her on the success, we were surprised by what she had to say. Looks like the cast had something else in their mind taking ratings into consideration. “We know 5.8 TRPs is not less, but we all were expecting a 6.3 TRP this week which we missed. But I am sure next week we will achieve the target,” said Kanika confidently. Why do you think the show will reach the target next week? “Many twists and turns await the audience in the coming week and I am sure that will enable the show to reach the desired target,” affirmed Kanika.
