We successfully built Mayuri’s character to be as POWERFUL as Surbhi Chandna’s character Bani in Naagin 5: Swarda Thigale

Here’s what Swarda has to say about her stint in Colors’ Naagin 5.

MUMBAI: Naagin 5 ended a while back. The show had a decent run, and people loved Surbhi Chandna and Sharad Malhotra’s chemistry as Bani and Veer. The series had many baddies fighting the naagin. One of the most loved villains of Naagin 5 was Mayuri, played by actress Swarda Thigale.

Swarda took a leap of faith by accepting the offer to play the lovable villain Mayuri. She played the girl next door in Colors' Savitri Devi College and Hospital and then decided to pleasantly surprise the audience with her stint in Naagin 5. Fans were in awe of Swarda’s portrayal as Mayuri in the show. (Read here: Excited to enter as Shagun in Star Plus’ Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani: Swarda Thigale )

TellyChakkar got in touch with Swarda and quizzed her on her stint in Naagin 5. She said, “We’ve really worked hard on making Mayuri stand out. Surbhi Chandna’s character as Bani was quite powerful, and the makers wanted to create an antagonist at par with Bani. I believe we were successful in getting Mayuri the kind of buzz she received. A lot of credit should be given to the director of the show, Ranjan Sir. The moment I walked into the sets, he told me that I as Mayuri, will never have a fringe on my forehead. He suggested that I always have a smiling face on screen.”

She added, “My fans were completely surprised and didn’t expect me to nail such a role. They were elated, and so was I. I used to look forward to going on the sets for shoot. I loved the styling, and the clothes that I wore helped me ace the role better. I had an amazing time shooting for Naagin 5.”
