MUMBAI: Rajat Verma, known for his roles in popular TV shows like Beyhadh 2, Dahej Daasi, and Ishq Par Zor Nahi, is currently winning hearts with his performance in Jamuniya. The actor, who is playing a lead role in the show, believes this could be the high point of his career.
“I don’t know... maybe this is the high point of my career,” Rajat says. “This is my second lead show in a row, and I’m working with great people—amazing writers, famous directors—so yes, I believe this is a high point for me.”
Rajat shares that while he's grateful for where he is, he doesn’t overthink his success. “I’m so involved in the present, enjoying the work every day. But when I stop to reflect, it hits me—this is what I used to dream about,” he adds.
Starting out with an unpaid role in television, Rajat’s journey has been marked by dedication and learning. “Money was never a factor,” he explains. “I even offered not to charge overtime, just to maintain a good working relationship. If the makers benefit from my presence, that’s what matters.”
Over the years, Rajat’s approach to acting has matured. “In the beginning, I just wanted to work. But now, I look for roles that challenge me and help me grow. Whether it’s lead or supporting, it has to move something inside me,” he says.
Speaking about Jamuniya, Rajat is full of praise for the team. “It’s been two months of shooting, and everything’s going really well. It’s a writer-led project, and I love that. Everyone is so talented and committed.”
He also appreciates his co-star, who plays Jamunia. “She’s amazing—hardworking and very supportive. It’s a pleasure working with her.”
For Rajat Verma, acting is not just a profession, but a lifelong journey. “There’s no ego, no attitude—just a commitment to growing every day,” he signs off.
