Kabir Sadanand’s Friends – Conditions Apply, the new thriller show launched on Channel V has been predominantly shot in the hilly region of Manali. One such shoot schedule had the entire cast and crew in disarray after a sudden snow storm blew them off their feet!!
Yes, under the most trying conditions, the entire team associated with the show had a tough time to escape the storm. They had to be evacuated to a place of safety, and this was indeed a huge ask.
Here are more details on the incident.
The unit was shooting at 11000 ft above sea level on top of a hill at Rohtang, a place ahead of Manali when the news came of a snow storm hitting the place. At a place where the temperatures could instantly vary from 8-9 degrees to -7 degrees, the snow storm hit the place even before the team could manage to disperse.
A source associated with the show told us that the scenario became really crazy with the team having to climb down the hill at a snail’s pace owing to the number of cars being driven away. They took nearly 5 hours to get down the hill, when compared to the 2 hours drive they used to usually take to get to their base camp. By the time, the unit reached a place of safety, their faces had gone numb and lips were blue in color.
We contacted Shivani Tomar, the protagonist Shakti in the show to know more on this incident and she told us in a really scary tone, “Yes, that incident was really shocking. The snow storm came in quick time, and we just could not do anything.”
Producer Kabir Sadanand too talked about the dreaded incident saying, “Yes, such an incident did take place. The place called Rohtang is actually called ‘Roohtang’ by the localites out there. It simply means even the ‘souls get tired’ of the chilly weather there (smiles). We had to evacuate our entire unit as there was a snow storm.”
‘Survival of the fittest’ in this case!! Way to go, team Friends!!
