MUMBAI: Samiksha Jaiswal has made a place for herself in the telly land by working in TV shows. She has been part of the soap, Zindagi Ki Mehak. Now, she is a part of a new show Bahu Begum which features Arjit Taneja and Diana Khan in the lead roles.
So, why did she take so much time to sign another show after Zindagi Ki Mehak? She told Indian Express that she was offered the titular role in Manmohini by producer Prateek Sharma. But she was sceptical to play a ‘chudail’ after doing a positive role. She was also offered several other shows but she couldn't relate to any.
Speaking about agreeing to play Noor in Bahu Begum, Samiksha said that she could relate to the character. “Although many don’t want to take such risks, I wanted to go for it. I know that lead characters of any show are considered ‘hero and heroine’ only when they have a love story between them. And here I am playing the best friend. While the fear of becoming a sidekick is there, I decided to take it up as a challenge. I believe in myself and the makers and I know it will turn out to be fruitful,” she said.
