MUMBAI: Diwali is around the corner but due to Covid-19, the celebrations are a bit low key this year. Here is how these actors are celebrating their Diwali this year.
Urvashi Uphadhyay Sharle: Diwali is a festival of positivity and I am hoping everything will be sometime soon. We will not be bursting any crackers this year as we have to be very careful about our environment, already the virus has had a bad impact on us. So, my Diwali will be with diyas and rangoli and, of course, some nice sweets.
Sharad Malhotra : As a child, for me, the significance of Diwali was just bursting crackers and binging on some Rosogollas and moti choor ladoos. This year too, like last year, I will be having Laxmi Puja at home and post that we will be decorating my new house with diyas and maybe some rangoli too. We also might indulge in preparing some traditional Indian sweets and Indian cuisine too.
Savi Thakur: I love Diwali. This is my favourite festival. I have no plans this year, to be very honest. I have not celebrated Diwali the way I used to since I came here. For me, Diwali is a festival that is celebrated with the whole family and I feel sad because I miss home. All I do is laxmi Poojan and a little bit of shopping. Earlier, I used to roam around with my friends. In Himachal, the markets would be decked up and you would meet all your friends there. Everyone would come to your house, too, on this day. This is what I really miss. In Mumbai this year, I don't know if anyone will come home or we will go out because people are still scared of Corona.
Vivian Dsena : I will celebrate only with my family this time. We all should do this and just wish our friends and relatives on the phone. It is really risky to invite anyone or visit anyone’s place during this pandemic. I will buy all the necessary things for Diwali pooja, lights and all and decorate my home with lights and divas. I will definitely avoid crackers and meeting friends and relatives due to Covid 19. I will be going to Ujjain, my hometown like every year but will make sure to take all precautions while travelling.
Kunal Thakkur : Diwali is still going to be the same. I am going to decorate my house just like I do every year. I am going to make a rangoli with my wife. We have had a couple of sad months being stuck in the house and not doing anything. I think I want to bring a little extra positivity and happiness in my house. I am going to invite my immediate family and friends who have been visiting me. We will do the basic ritual that we always do because we are not going to let our Diwali suffer because of Covid -19.
