Yash Patnaik goes down memory lane to narrate how he met his wife Mamta

Way back in 2001, at an office party a girl was being harassed to dance by colleagues who were in an inebriated state. She was trying her best to avoid them but they were insistent. At that time, a knight in shining armour stepped in and volunteered to dance with the damsel in distress. He danced on with her for hours despite he having two left feet. He dropped her at her doorstep late at night but she had left back her jacket on his bike. The jacket stayed with him for the next five to six years.

The guy was Yash Patnaik and the girl was Mamta Patnaik (currently producers at Beyond Dreams). They were both producers with Zee TV at that time. Though they did work under the same roof, they were merely aware of one another’s presence as they didn’t really interact as they were in different teams. Yash reminisces, “I had always found Mamta to be very sweet and cute. Had it been not for that party, I would not have got to know her better. I am not a party person anyway.” It is indeed a marriage made in heaven as both hardly have any disagreements at work. Yash remarks, “Our areas of work are very well defined. We complement one another rather than stepping into one another’s areas. Disagreements hardly happen and if they do, one of us amicably settles them.” Needless to say, the couple has been thoroughly enjoying working together. Yash comments, “It has been fantastic to work together. Had we worked in two different places we simply wouldn’t have been able to spend so much of time together. We travel together to work, have lunch together and go for channel meetings together. We do everything ‘together’.” Mamta who is shy and an introvert by nature lets her husband do the talking, especially as it was a personal topic. It was evident though that she loved to hear the man she loves, go down memory lane on how they met in a very filmy manner and how their love blossomed. We wish this talented couple all the best for their future endeavours for both films and TV.
