You never stop learning as a mother - Smita Bansal

God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers- Rudyard Kipling (novelist) Smita Bansal who plays Sumitra in Color’s Balika Vadhu (Sphere Origins) is a yummy mommy of two beautiful daughters- Tasha aged nine and Anaagha aged eight months. Nine years ago when she had first held her new born daughter in her arms an amazing feeling had dawned on her. She narrates, “I felt both joy and confusion. The pain of childbirth seems worth it when you hold your bonny baby in your arms. I felt confused as she was my first child and I was yet to learn how to handle a baby.” Smita completely agrees that motherhood is a full time job. “My life revolves completely around my children. They always keep me busy.” Smita who had been advised bed rest when she was carrying her first child, had read many books on pregnancy and child care. “I have thoroughly read What to Expect While Expecting and Dr.Spock’s Baby and Childcare.” So how does she bond with her kids? “All kids are different and need to be accordingly treated differently. I play with my elder daughter and read out to her. My younger child who is not even a year old needs loving care like any small baby.” Smita avers that motherhood completes a woman. “Motherhood is a beautiful journey. Each day of motherhood is different. You never stop learning as a mother.”
