Celebrities and crew members of Zee's daily show Banoo Main Teri Dulhann celebrated 100 episodes of the show with great pomp at a suburban lounge (Tian) recently. The show has seen success and has reached number one in 49 weeks and is climbing up the TRP charts with some changes in its storyline. Obviously elated with the good run of the show was leading lady Divyanka Tripathi, who plays Vidya, a meek, submissive and illiterate girl. "I've had a mind blowing experience so far and everyone's been a friend and has lent a helping hand. I picked up this role mainly because it's a different in the true sense of the word besides I play the main lead who is not a typical bahu. There are lots of interesting twists and turns coming up as the show progresses," says this petite and down to earth actor who hails from Bhopal. Sharad Malhotra who plays Vidya's hubby Sagar has attained immense popularity due to his role as a mentally challenged guy. "I feel great that the show has completed 100 episodes. When I joined it, I was apprehensive about my ability to do justice with an intriguing role like this. But, thanks to my producers who organized a workshop with Rohini Hatangadi. It helped me get into the sensitivities of the character. I chose to do this role since it demands more from an actor than the conventional roles," chirps Sharad who is originally from the city of joy, Kolkata. For producer Shaymashish Bhattacharya it's been a quite an experience to keep up the show's TRP's on for six months now. "Dulhan has turned out to be a top grosser (and is on the third position in the 8pm time band) and needless to say it's an off beat show. And we like to deal with women oriented shows because they can be experimented with. We had a contract of 208 episodes and if the TRP's are constant then only we get a green signal to go ahead. The track will be spiced up soon with a new vamp besides Kamya Punjabi in the show," says Shaymashish who is also co-producing the show with Neelima Bajpai and has been a cameraman in the past on shows like Kadam, Kagaar, Dhadkan, Bhanwar and Kabhi Aye Na Judai. Kamya Punjabi who plays Sindora is all gung ho about her negative act. "I have never hesitated from playing this catty vampish character. What makes her stand out is that she is a good-hearted vamp - subtle, sophisticated and yet venomous." Kamya is also making the protagonist's life miserable in Sahara One's Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki. "I haven't played an agonist because all they do is cry all time, though the motions aren't shunned!"
