Shama Sikander And Zubin Garg
In its second week, Jjhoom India witnessed not one but two casualties. Perceived as the biggest threat, Apara Mehta and Parthiv Gohil were voted out by fellow contestants. However, one was surprised by the absence of Shama Sikander's partner Zubin Garg. He was eventually replaced by Jolly Mukherjee. So, what transpired causing Zubin to leave? His manager offered us the following reason. Apparently, before taking up Jjhoom, Zubin had committed himself as a judge on Sa Re Ga Ma on Zee Bangla. Before signing on the doted line, Zubin had intimated Jjhoom producers (Optimystix) about his prior commitment with Sa Re Ga Ma. Optimystix didn't have any objection to it then. They asked him to be there for his last episode on 30 October but Zubin had to shoot for Sa Re Ga Ma on the same day. Optimystix tried to persuade Zubin to make it to the show; but the singer chose to honour his commitment with Sa Re Ga Ma. While Zubin declared his intentions, his partner Shama Sikander was left to fend for herself. Though, not disappointed, Shama was taken aback by her partner's absence. Says Shama, "It came as a shock to me. I arrived for the rehearsal but Zubin didn't show up. I was singing all by myself. It was only later in the day that I was told that I'll have a new partner." Fortunately for Shama, Jolly Mukherjee came to her rescue. However, after the Zubin experience, Shama is keeping her fingers crossed
