IPL 2025: After Ashwin’s CSK games’ analysis controversy, the all-rounder releases statement and takes a major decision for the season

R Ashwin has a Youtube channel and all of his fans know about it. It’s a channel where Ashwin talks out very freely about his gameplay and also has some very interesting discussions. It’s a little surprising to know that even the head coach Stephen Flemming had no idea about Ashwin’s Youtube channel’s existence.

MUMBAI: R Ashwin has a Youtube channel and all of his fans know about it. It’s a channel where Ashwin talks out very freely about his gameplay and also has some very interesting discussions. However, there was one episode where he talked about the team management of CSK, saying that the preference was given to the Afghanistan left-arm chinaman bowler Noor Ahmad over Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin.

It’s a little surprising to know that even the head coach Stephen Flemming had no idea about Ashwin’s Youtube channel’s existence. When he was asked in the post-match press conference on April 5 about Ashwin’s discussion on the youtube channel, Flemming said, “Mate, I have no idea. I don’t even know he had a channel, so I don’t follow that stuff. That’s irrelevant. You guys are important”

However, things have gone a little it seems and so, Ashwin will be taking some major decisions about it. In an official statement, R. Ashwin has said that he will not have discussions around the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) games during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. In a post on Youtube channel, Ashwin said, “Given the nature of the discussions on this forum over the last week, we want to be mindful of how things can be interpreted and have chosen to step away from covering CSK games, both previews and reviews, for the rest of this season”

He further said, “We value the diversity of perspectives that come through on our shows and remain committed to ensuring the conversation stays true to the integrity and purpose of the platform we’ve established. The views expressed by our guests do not reflect Ashwin’s personal opinions,”

Reassuring fans and followers that discussions about all the non-CSK analysis will continue, he said, “We appreciate all those who engage thoughtfully with the spirit of the show. Your feedback continues to help us refine and improve what we've built over the years. The Small Council will continue with all non-CSK games as usual...Looking forward to witnessing the rest of this exciting IPL season with all of you”

CSK has lost 3 out of 4 matches and will face Punjab Kings next on 8th April.
