MUMBAI: The Kolkata Traffic Police have announced special traffic arrangements ahead of the highly anticipated IPL 2025 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on Monday, 21 April. With the match kicking off at 7:30 PM at Eden Gardens, a series of traffic restrictions, road closures, and diversions will be in effect from 4:00 PM until 1:00 AM to ensure public safety and manage the expected surge in traffic.

Goods Vehicle Restrictions

During the advisory window, the movement of goods vehicles will be limited or rerouted in areas surrounding Eden Gardens and the Maidan stretch. This is aimed at easing congestion during peak match hours.

Roads Closed to Vehicles

Several streets will be entirely shut to vehicle traffic:

Kshudiram Bose Road (Auckland Road)

North Brooke Avenue

Gostha Pal Sarani (Kingsway)

1. Via Rani Rashmoni Avenue > Netaji Statue > Government Place East > Old Court House Street

From North and East Kolkata
Depending on traffic density, vehicles may be diverted using:

Central Avenue

SN Banerjee Road

Rani Rashmoni Avenue

Esplanade Row East

Access to BBD Bag

South Kolkata traffic should use AJC Bose Road, St. Georges Gate Road, and Strand Road, heading toward Kiran Sankar Roy Road.

From the North or East, BBD Bag can be accessed through BB Ganguly Street, SN Banerjee Road, and designated feeder routes.

Howrah-bound Traffic
Buses and minibuses approaching from areas like DH Road, Khidderpore Bridge, Belvedere Road, or JL Nehru Road may be rerouted through:

St. Georges Gate Road

AJC Bose Road Ramp

Season-Long Strategy

This plan is part of a broader traffic control framework put in place for all KKR home fixtures at Eden Gardens. Similar traffic arrangements will be repeated for upcoming matches against franchises such as Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Chennai Super Kings.
