"Remo D'Souza is an Indian dancer, choreographer, actor and film director. He struggled hard to reach where he is today. Although he is mainly involved in choreography, he has also contributed to filmmaking in other Indian film industries, Bengali cinema.
He completed his higher secondary studied from Jamnagar, Gujarat. He left his studies mid-way due to lack of interest. Soon after he left his studies he landed in Mumbai to struggle though his dad wanted him to join air force.
He did not have a dance teacher but he just loved dancing since his early childhood. He used to perform during school functions and other occasions. But his craving to learn more about dancing is what brought him to Mumbai.
Whatever He has learnt about dancing has been own his own. He hasn't taken any professional training in it. He learnt various dance forms by watching movies, music videos, etc. He looks up to the late Michael Jackson as his guru as he always copied his steps.
In Mumbai he stayed with a family as a paying guest and also opened two dance classes with the help of his friends. Since, he was new the earning wasn’t really good. Hence, there was a time when he had no money to pay his owners and he stayed at Bandra station for two days.
He finally got recognition in All India Dance Competition where his team came first. At that time, Ahmed Khan was working on Ram Gopal Varma's Rangeela and was on the lookout for fresh faces. He auditioned Remo and he was selected but he had to face rejected because of his dark complexion and unattractive features. However, Ahmed's assistant insisted on taking him in the film. Hence, he was selected as a dancer in Ai Re Ai Re… Rangeela. From here he started assisting Ahmed. From then there has been no looking back for Remo.
