MUMBAI: Durgamati had a direct release on Amazon Prime Video today. The film starring Bhumi Pednekar follows the story of an IAS officer who is possessed by a ghost, or is she? The movie is produced by Akshay Kumar with Mahie Gill and Arshad Warsi also being a part of it. Recently, Bhumi was spotted at Mumbai's popular destination, Juhu Beach to witness a setup that was put up there for the audiences to get a glimpse of Durgamati's Haveli.
The actress was all smiles when posing for the camera. The movie released today and the actress is already being praised for her performance. A fan event was organised by the makers of Durgamati which was a hit and now that the movie is out and people are going crazy. This is Akshay Kumar's second movie as a producer.
Durgamati promises to be a genre breaking film as claimed by the Hero of the film herself, Bhumi Pednekar. Akshay Kumar stated that the role of Chanchal the IAS officer reminded him of Bhumi and hence she was choosen for it by Khiladi Kumar himself.
The posters created quite a buzz, they trailer added to the intrigue and the movie is a remake of the Anushka Shetty starrer south film, Bhaagamathie. The movie promises to be a 'hooked on to the edge of the seat thriller' kind of movie.
