In an exclusive interview with Sonali Bendre prior to the release of Broken News season 2 on ZEE5, the versatile actor opened up on how today's leading ladies don't flinch from questioning the status quo unlike their 90s counterparts.

When asked – You have 90s co-stars, you have the Khans, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, there’s still doing leading roles but when it comes to female actors that’s not really the case

Sonali Bendre said, “When you’re talking about my male colleagues still working, yes I agree with you, there are a lot of people who have a lot of things to say about it and I think I will leave that space for them. All I will say is that it is patriarchy, and it is what it is but I’m very thankful that when we were working, it didn’t even occur to us that it should be that pay should be equal, or this should not be happening. It was so taken for granted that this was how it was supposed to be that you didn’t even question it but today these girls, or for us for that matter, we would question it and that itself shows the progress that has been made that there are conversations that are happening and I can only hope that I’m part of this conversations going forward and that these conversations keep going forward.”

This was our conversation with Sonali Bendre for his upcoming OTT series The Broken News Season 2.
