MUMBAI: Actor Chandan Roy Sanyal is part of the successful web series Aashram, which he says gave him hope to begin again, at a time when his career was almost slipping off the coast.
Chandan, who has featured in Bollywood films such as Kaminey, Jazbaa and Chef, captured audience imagination last year playing the vile Bhopa Swamy over two seasons of Prakash Jha's crime drama series Aashram. In an Instagram picture he posted on Friday, Chandan is seen hugging Jha.
"This was the picture of 2020 for me, the last day of shoot for Aashram and it was my birthday. It was this man who gifted me something great for all to remember for a long time, the invincible Bhopa right at the end of my flagellin decade, was almost slipping off the coast. Gave me hope to begin again to rise and reconquer. Thanks Mr Jha! A maverick film maker and a visionary. So much I learnt and un learnt. Like you told me -- keep it minimum," the actor wrote.
"Gearing into 2021. Its gonna be a made ride guys in this new decade. I can feel it, i am raring to go at it, create some kickass art and cinema and roar and rupture. Hip Hip Hurrah ! Have a wonderful new decade all you good samaritans. Long Live ! I will be back ! @prakashjproductions #2021 #decade," he concluded.
The series, also starring Bobby Deol, revolves around the crime that happens under the guise of faith, through the story of a corrupt godman.
