Exclusive! Ekta Kapoor’s Lock Upp contestant Munawar Faruqui talks about why he signed the show and how would he deal with a tough host like Kangana Ranaut

Munawar is a famous comedian who is one of the confirmed contestants of the show. TellyChakkar got in touch with the comedian and asked him about how he bagged the show and what would be his strategy and how he would handle the host Kangana Ranaut.

MUMBAI: Ekta Kapoor is coming up with a reality show titled “Lock Upp,” where 17 contestants will be locked in jail and they would have to play the game and fight for getting bail to survive on the show.

Kangana Ranaut will be making her OTT debut with the show as the host where she will be guiding the contestants.

Poonam Pandey, Ishaan Seghal, Miesha Iyer, Pratik Sehjapal, and Shehnaaz Gill are possible contestants.

Munawar Faruqui who is one of the ace comedians in our country is one of the confirmed contestants on the show.

TellyChakkar got in touch with Munawar and asked him why he said yes to the show and how would he deal with a tough host like Kangana Ranaut.

When you were offered this reality show, what attracted you to say “Yes” to the show?

It’s a very different show and I took it up because it was out of my comfort zone and the concept is so different and my only motive will be to entertain the audience. MX player and Alt Balaji are a vast medium of digital platforms and they cater to the large audience who will be watching us like and it will help us to make a mark in the audience’s mind.

How would you deal with the tough host Kangana Ranaut who is known to be blunt and honest in her opinions?

Will deal with it like any other situation as this is a game mistake would happen and would solve it the way it comes on my way. In my life, everything has become unfair so now I will also be a bit unfair in the game.

What is your strategy for the game?

One can’t make a strategy for the game as we our self don’t know what the game is all about the only information we have is that we will be locked up in jail and there would be a tough situation in which we would be put in and would have to fight it.

Well, the show seems to be quite interesting and it will stream on Mx Player and Alt Balaji from 27th February 2022.
