Exclusive! Imlie actress Meenakshi Chugh bags SonyLIV’s upcoming series Waking of a Nation based on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre

MUMBAI: There are numerous TV shows and concepts that are currently being developed and are expected to be released soon.

Now, we are back with exclusive news from the world of the digital medium. Ram Madhvani, the director of Aarya will soon roll out a new series on SonyLIV. The series is based on the historic Jallianwala Bagh massacre, which took place on April 13, 1919.

The series was initially scheduled for release on Disney+Hotstar, but it seems that there has been a change in the streaming platform.

According to our credible sources, actress Meenakshi Chugh has come on board for the show and will be seen playing a significant role in the series. Meenakshi is known for her stint in projects in the likes of Star Plus show Imlie, Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, and The Kashmir Files among others.

The series is titled Waking Of a Nation.

Jallianwala Bagh traces the event of how a peaceful protest during the Indian Independence movement in Amritsar, Punjab turned into a horrific death trap when British troops surrounded the venue, blocked the exit, and opened fire.  (Also Read: Exclusive!
