Monica O My Darling movie review: Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apta starrer is an interesting thriller, with a touch of comedy in it

Monica O My Darling revolves around Jayant (Rajkummar Rao) who is appointed as one of the board of directors in a robotics company. He is in love with Nikki (Akansha Ranjan Kapoor), daughter of the organisation's owner. Jayant is also having an affair with Monica (Huma Quershi) who is also working in the same company. But, one revelation by Monica changes Jayant's life and further we get a roller-coaster ride with a lot of murder, mystery, drama, and comedy.

The story of the film is surely something unique for the Indian audiences and releasing it on Netflix was the perfect choice as it will attract a certain section of the audience that is looking forward to some interesting content on digital platforms. One of the negative points of the film is that it's predictable, but kudos to director Vasan Bala who has narrated the story of the film so well that it keeps you engaged throughout the film.

Performance wise, it's the two actresses, Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apte, who completely steal the show. Both the actresses have put their best foot forward. Also, Huma is looking simply stunning in the film. The talented Rajkummar Rao as usual, has done a fantastic job. Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and Zayn Marie Khan also leave a mark with their performance. Sikander Kher looks dapper in the movie and impresses in his extended cameo. Sukant Goel and Bagavathi Perumal are also damn good in their respective roles.

Well, the movie's music and the background score deserve a special mention. It's fantastic! The makers have also used the classic song Monica O My Darling in the background perfectly and thankfully without ruining it.
