Now, Adah Sharma is soon to be seen in another OTT project ‘Kofuku’, which is a short film and will be released on Jio Cinemas. ‘Kofuku’ is a film about people and their perspectives on life and how to live it.
Tellychakkar got in touch with Adah Sharma where she talked about her character, the success of the Kerala Story and much more.
Tell us about your character in the film and what made you choose this project?
I try to do projects which have roles that I’ve not played before or be a part of stories that I like to watch. I thought this would be an interesting thing to watch. It’s got a very fairytale vibe but the crux of it is something that is very universal. It’s about happiness and how to find it. The answer to what’s the secret to happiness is in the film.
How do you feel about the film being chosen for India’s largest film festival launched by Jio Cinema?
It’s nice as the film will get a wide reach and a large amount of audience will get to watch it. As an actor, no matter what the project, the main aim is about the number of people watching it, right? It’s art, you want to put it out for people to watch it and give you validation on it. So I’m just waiting for the release and hope that people like it.
Do you feel that with ‘The Kerala Story’ people finally appreciated your artistic skills and you got the long due credit as an actress?
I think with ‘The Kerala Story’ I got an opportunity to showcase my skills and be watched by a lot of people, though the audience has been very nice to me since my debut when I started with 1920. I was nobody from the industry, just a girl who’s doing horror for the first time and I think the audience and critics were very nice to me even then but it really helps to have a film that’s been watched by so many people. That way they can see your performance and you have a scale to put it out over there and have a lot of people watch it. I feel that there are people who watched and then told other people to watch it. It was the audience that decided the fate of the movie and made it such a big success.
