The screenplay is decent and there are few punch lines and one liners coming from different talents which will definitely make you laugh at bits and pieces. Also, the direction given by Fahad Samji is asusual and strictly decent, but impressive in a few scenes.
If we talk about the performance of the central character of the web series, Kunal Khemu, he has delivered decent performance just like in different comedy movies. On the other hand, Nupur Sanon gives a promising debut. The actress looks beautiful in the web series and we can expect some great characters coming from the side of the actress in the future. Saurabh Shukla impresses again and was good on his part. Meanwhile, Johnny Lever has few one liners and punchlines which will definitely make you laugh. Rajpal Yadav is another attraction in the web series as he will be seen in double role. Chunky Pandey has less to offer in the web series, but he was decent in his part. It was a treat to watch the late actor Sathish Kaushik in comedy for one last time. On the other hand, Jamie Lever definitely makes you laugh with her presence in the show and is one of the major attraction of the web series.
Talking about a positive points, these amazing bunch of talents coming together is a treat and positive point in itself. There are a few punch lines and one liners given to Johnny Lever and Rajpal Yadav, which will definitely make you laugh. On the other hand, whenever Jamie Lever appears on screen, she surely makes you laugh and is brilliant on her part. Also, we get to see a fresh chemistry between Kunal Khemu and Nupur Sanon and the music is very catchy. When the title track appears in the web series, it definitely enhances your viewing experience. Last, but not the least, the twist and turns in the web series is really great, which definitely grabs your attention till the last scene.
Coming to the negatives, what pulls the web series down is the screenplay. It is strictly decent and at some point, the series looks a little stretched. Also, there are a few comedy scenes which look forceful and repetitive. There a few jokes which has no logic and lot of references from Whatsapp forwards which surely make you bore a few times. Well, the biggest mistake of the web series is that we get to see less of Johnny Lever and Chunky Pandey, the two brilliant comedians. There are a few illogical scenes in the web series, which does not make any sense.
Having said all that, if you are a Farhad Samji fan, this one is for you. Overall, Pop Kaun is a strictly decent series which serves you laughter, but in bits and pieces.
Team TellyChakkar goes with 2.5/5 for Pop Kaun.
