MUMBAI : With a gripping tale of betrayal and the complexities of love, Disney+ Hotstar’s riveting drama series, Gunaah is now streaming ‘Free on mobile’ for viewers on the app. Leading the cast in this gripping series are none other than actors Gashmeer Mahajani, Zayn Ibad Khan, and Surbhi Jyoti. Their portrayal continues to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, as they navigate the intricacies of their characters with depth and authenticity. Directed by Anil Senior and with Anirudh Pathak as the showrunner, Gunaah follows Abhimanyu, who is out there to blur the lines between right & wrong, friends and enemies, mercy & retribution. Speaking about portraying a grey character in a series, and the emotions that she brought to life that made the portrayal more authentic, Surbhi Jyoti stated, “When Tara betrays Shiva at that time, she was not happy. The character herself was not happy, she was very confused and disheartened. She was feeling very low, she was feeling very bad. So it's not that she was feeling one thing and doing something else and portraying something else. So that's why main bura feel kar rahi thi or main wahi dikh rahi thi. Amongst her friends also, Tara didn't portray it in a way that usko farak hi nahi padta. It was there on her face ki usko farak padta hai ki woh Shiva ke saath aisa kar rahi hai because she was genuinely in love with Shiva. So that's why authenticity dikhi while doing that scene, because Tara was in love with him and when Tara betrayed him, she was very disheartened and it was plain on her face.”
Speaking of the positive responses from the show, she added, “It is so overwhelming. It is so amazing. I really can't thank enough all the people who've been watching and giving us such an amazing response. Bahut maza aata hai ye dekh ke ki agar aapne bahut mehnat karke koi cheez banai hai toh log pyaar kar rahe hain. Aur you know, kahani ke sath sath logo ka response jab aata hai ki Tara ne aisa kyu kiya, and then probably after two episodes, they got to know usne aisa kyun kiya and then they were like, "Oh my God, our sympathies are with Tara." So woh sab dekhne ke baad bahut accha lagta hai. I'm very happy, I'm very grateful, and I'm really looking forward to every one of you watching this series.”
Produced under the banner of Bodhi Tree Multimedia Ltd, with producers Sukesh Dev Motwani, Mautik Tolia, and Persis Siganporia, the series brings together a talented cast comprising of Gashmeer Mahajani and Surbhi Jyoti. The series is Directed by Anil Senior with Anirudh Pathak as the showrunner.
