MUMBAI: Pooja Bhatt, the eldest child of film director Mahesh Bhatt, made her acting debut at age 17, in 1989 with Daddy, a TV film directed by her father Mahesh Bhatt. Her biggest solo hit and her big screen debut came with a musical hit, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin.
Her most well-known films in the 1990s included Sadak opposite Sanjay Dutt (1991), Junoon opposite Rahul Roy , Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin opposite Aamir Khan (1991), Chaahat opposite Shahrukh Khan (1996), Tamanna (1997), and Zakhm (1998). She made her directorial debut with Paap in 2004, starring John Abraham and Udita Goswami.
She has now signed a Bollywood film along with Radhika Madan. The actress is all set to make a comeback on the big screen and will be seen playing the role of Radhika Madan's mother. A portal states, "Pooja Bhatt has a very powerful role in Radhika Madan's starrer Sana. While Radhika plays the titular role, Pooja plays the role of her mother. In the film, Pooja will be seen as a strong and independent mother who teaches her daughter to deal with her pregnancy before marriage. The film is very high on drama and the makers couldn't think but of Pooja Bhatt for this role."
The shooting of the film will start from next week in Mumbai.
Pooja made her comeback with the Bombay Begums web series and she was just mind-blowing in it. The critics and audiences hailed her power-packed performance.
Pooja was eventually instrumental in bringing model-turned-actors like Sunny Leone, Udita Goswami, and Ilene Hamann in Bollywood.
Each of her projects depicted strong female characters who were guilt-free about their desires and dreams.
