MUMBAI: Body-shaming is not acceptable, but things are different when you are a celebrity. Bollywood is infamous for having unrealistic body standards when it's about actors and actresses. They are expected to look a certain way and are constantly scrutinized for how they look.
Many have been body-shamed for their looks but what makes a few different is that they stood up to their trolls and got the last word.
Recently, Farah Khan who gave a tight reply to trolls who fat-shamed her and skinny-shamed her triplets. During a conversation with Arbaaz Khan on his show Pinch, Farah read a comment that was, "Moti ke bachche itne sukhe kyun (Why are the fat one’s children so skinny)?” To which she responded, "Sun, tu tere bachchon ko sambhaal, main mere bachchon ko sambhaal lungi" (Listen, you take care of your kids, I’ll look after mine).

1. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya Rai was body-shamed for her looks. The actress gained weight during and after her pregnancy and was made fun of for her fit-to-flab transformation. But she handled the troll well.
"How do they have the time, inclination to put someone else down and how can that make you feel good. But at the end of the day, we can sit and think about trying to analyze that mindset. Let them help themselves. But what you can help is by not giving importance to it," Aish said.
2. Ileana D'cruz
Ileana has always been vocal about her struggles with body-shaming. The actress has often revealed that she was subjected to body-shaming at the early age of 12 and that caused a psychological impact.
"It takes a lot of inner strength to tell yourself that what they are saying doesn’t matter. What your feel about yourself is most important. And it’s something I tell myself every single day," Ileana said.
3. Neha Dhupia
After giving birth to her first child, Neha Dhupia was bashed online for her weight gain. The actress who is known for her bold life choices and statements, in her defense told that she is "unbothered" by the fat-shaming and that she does not "owe" anyone an explanation.
4. Sonakshi Sinha
She has been subjected to body-shaming on multiple occasions. She was bullied for her weight as a child and trolled when she lost oodles of weight after becoming an actress. She learned to laugh it off, saying that people who troll are nothing but a mere "joke."
"For years I’ve been trolled because of my weight. I’ve never felt the need to react because I always believed i was #BiggerThanThem... pun intended," she wrote.
5. Arjun Kapoor
The actor has always been vocal about his weight issues. He once weighed more than 100 kg and surprised many with his weight loss transformation.
"See somebody has an issue with how broad structured I am, I can’t cut my arm off na? And if somebody today does not know what I am dealing with in my life, with the health issue or all that’s is going on in my personal space, where it might have reflected a bit in my life. I might have not looked the way they expect me to look, as long as it is not hindering the way I connect with the on-screen, I cannot take it seriously beyond a point," the actor said.
