Actress Shweta Basu Prasad who was lodged in a rescue home after her arrest post the prostitution racket involving her has now been allowed to move in and live with her mother. The permission for the same was granted to the beleaguered actress by the Sessions court which allowed the revision plea filed by the her mother challenging the lower court's order that had earlier directed Shweta to continue staying at the rescue home for six months for 'rehabilitation'.
Through her revision application, Shweta's mother argued that her daughter was being framed and her confinement at the rescue home was a violation of her fundamental right.
The sessions court, in its wisdom, called for a fresh report from the rescue home which stated that it had no objection to Shweta's release. Since no objection was raised by the rescue home, the Sessions court directed the custody of Shweta to be handed over to her mother.
Shweta who shot into limelight with her National Award winning performance in Vishal Bhardwaj's Makdee was caught when cops busted a prostitution racket where she was allegedly caught red-handed with a businessman who name has not yet been revealed. Shweta is believed to have told the cops that she turned to prostitution to support her family as work was scarce and she was financially broke. Her arrest and subsequent castigation saw many B-town celebs including Deepika Padukone coming out in support of the young actress.
