Vaibhav Rekhi, the spouse of Dia Mirza, is, in fact, a financial services industry businessman. He studied business management and finance at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States. Afterwards, he went back to India to complete his MBA at Hyderabad's esteemed Indian School of Business (ISB), per an article in India Today. He obtained experience working for big financial companies such as HSBC and Citi, as well as Savills and DTZ in London, after completing his dual education. Among his accomplishments are advisory positions in noteworthy deals such as the $2.6 billion initial public offering (IPO) of Link Reit in Hong Kong, the biggest IPO of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) to date.

At Piramal Fund Management, the fiduciary division of the Piramal Group's financial services company, Vaibhav Rekhi presently holds the position of Partner. Total assets under management at Piramal Fund Management exceed Rs 4,300 crore. Rekhi has worked in investment banking and real estate private equity for more than ten years. He is in charge of formulating capital strategies, allocating investments, and keeping an eye on many capital pools at Piramal Fund Management. In FY 2023, the Piramal Group's consolidated revenue came to $10 billion, or roughly Rs 83,525 crore.

Under the direction of Ajay Piramal, the chairman of The Piramal Group, is Piramal Fund Management. Anand Piramal is the Executive Director and the son of Ajay Piramal. Anand Piramal is married to Isha Ambani, who is the daughter of Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, the biggest oil-to-chemicals company in India. He is related to Isha Ambani in this way.
