Government not taking back Saif's Padma Shri - Kareena Kapoor

The controversy over the withdrawal of Saif's Padma Shri has finally come to an end with the Government of India deciding not to withdraw India's fourth highest civilian honour bestowed on the actor. The issue arose when a petitioner demanded that Saif's Padma Shri be withdrawn since he has been accused of allegedly hitting a South African based businessman at a brawl in a five star hotel. The government however so no merit in the application and dismissed it without any further ado. Confirming the same to us was Kareena Kapoor who said, "Government has already issued a letter saying they are not taking his Padma Shri back. The letter is out a d it is the government's contention that the honour was given to him three to four years back and even now the verdict of this case is not yet out. So the government is not revoking Saif's Padma Shri. Well that settles the dust for now. Saif had earlier joked if his Padma Shri is being revoked for acting in Humshakals.
