Has SRK-Karan Johar friendship gone kaput?

A season that started off with a bang ought to have finished in grand style as well. Alas! Koffee with Karan (KWK) was not destined to have a superstar ending. It’s no secret that Karan wanted to end this season of Koffee with Karan (Star World) with his buddy SRK as his final guest. But then he had to settle for the tepid pair of Alia and Parineeti since SRK reportedly denied accepting Karan’s invitation. If sources are to be believed, SRK is still miffed with Karan for having invited Salman Khan to open this season. Though SRK and Salman may have hugged in public, the acrimony is apparently far from over. Both don’t let go off opportunities of taking digs at each other whenever possible, even today. And with rival Salman’s opening episode on KWK having grabbed great eyeballs, SRK has ample reasons to feel peeved. In fact, just a week after the screening of the first episode, we met SRK at a book launch where on being asked the superstar nonchalantly mentioned that he hasn’t seen KWK’s opening episode and chose not to elaborate any further which was quite a contradiction to his usual verbose nature. SRK’s cold response did make it amply evident that the star was not quite pleased at Karan having chosen Salman. Even though Karan was able to rope in Farah Khan and SRK’s Happy New Year co-star Abhishek Bachchan, his failure to get SRK does indeed mean that there is more to it than what actually meets the viewer’s eye. Is this the beginning of the end of the famous SRK-KJO jodi? Only time will tell.
