MUMBAI : Long ago, Imran Khan got separated from his childhood sweetheart and ex-wife Avantika; nevertheless, none of them ever discussed the reasons behind the split. In a recent interview, the actor has now publicly disclosed the cause of their divorce.
In a conversation with an entertainment portal,the actor confessed that it was when he was suffering with depression that he realised the relationship was not working and said, “Without going too much into that part, because I'm hesitant to add a lot of fuel to the gossip fire, but as I was dealing with all of this baggage and my internal struggle, I did find that my marriage and my relationship were not helping any of that.”
Following the same he said, "In an ideal, healthy dynamic between two people, you are both making each other better, healthier, stronger, and supporting each other to be the healthiest, best, strongest version. We were not in that place.”
Childhood sweethearts Imran Khan and Avantika were married in 2011 in a small-scale, intimate ceremony. After eight years of marriage and the birth of their daughter in 2014, they filed for divorce in 2019. The actor has kept quiet about his personal life; following their divorce, he frequently spends time with her daughter, and the two of them are currently co-parenting her. Additionally, he recently disclosed Lekha Washington's relationship to the public.
Imran Khan left the movie industry after a run of bad movies, but he recently said that he is now prepared to return when he finds a suitable project. When Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa became popular, Imran Khan made his acting debut as a lead hero. He had previously made his acting debut as a kid artist in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. He has contributed to a number of iconic movies, like Delhi Belly, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, and others. He has not yet signed a comeback project, having last been seen with Kangana Ranaut in Katti Batti.
