Ishq Vishk Rebound: Hrithik Roshan's cousin Pashmina Roshan opens up about battling depression; Says ‘I used to just sleep in the afternoon’

MUMBAI : Actress Pashmina Roshan, cousin of actor Hrithik Roshan, is making her Bollywood debut with Ishq Vishk Rebound. In the next movie, Pashmina features co-star Rohit Saraf. She recently talked about her mental health and the hard work she put into her first film.

Pashmina Roshan revealed in a recent interview with a popular news agency that she struggled with depression in her early years. Pashmina remembered how she used to simply sleep in the afternoons and how she was doubtful of her capacity to be a "good actor".

Although Pashmina revealed that she participated in (performing Arts) theatre when she was in school, the Ishq Vishk Rebound actor wasn't "sure" about acting at the time.

"So, I had applied to different universities in the UK for marketing. I got my visa, rooms were booked and it was summer holiday. I was very depressed. All my friends would go for parties and they would do everything. I used to just sleep in the afternoon," Pashmina Roshan said.

Pashmina Roshan believed that she wasn't "good enough" for marketing.

"I wasn't artistically satisfied in marketing, I don't think I was good enough, good for it. Since then I took a photo shoot actually to see what was in me," Pashmina added.

The actress also revealed that she showed her father and uncle the photos from the photo shoot. She added, "They said yes, there is something in everyone but you have to polish it."

After that, Pashmina learned acting and dancing, took Bharatnatyam and other dance lessons, and went on "back-to-back" auditions. Pashmina Roshan went on to say that she had been "rejected" a couple of times. Pashmina "evaluated" her own performance and received input from her family, which helped her land her first debut film. According to Pashmina, she is "grateful" for being cast in Ishq Vishk Rebound. On June 21, 2024, Ishq Vishk Rebound will be released in theatres.
