Siddhant Chaturvedi took to Instagram today, May 27, to announce his film with Triptii Dimri, Dhadak 2. Janhvi Kapoor reacted to the announcement by liking Siddhant’s post. Check it out here:

The announcement video shared by Siddhant is set to the theme song with the text “ek tha raja, ek thi rani, jaat alag thi, khatam kahani” written in red. Like the original Dhadak, the sequel explores how class and status pose a challenge to love. The film is directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Dharma Productions, Zee Studios and Cloud 9 Pictures. The film will be released on November 22 this year.

Dhadak 2 will mark the first collaboration between Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. Siddhant was last seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan with Ananya Panday and Adarsh Gourav. As for Triptii, she became a household name after her performance in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal.

Janhvi Kapoor and Ishan Khatter’s Dhadak came out in 2018. The film was directed by Shashank Khaitan. Dhadak also starred Ashutosh Rana, Aditya Kumar, Shridhar Watsar, Ankit Bisht and Ishika Gagneja among others.

Dhadak featured Janhvi as Parthavi and Ishan as Madhukar in Rajasthan. They fall in love but face opposition from their families due to their differing social statuses. In order to marry one another and live a life free from these challenges, they elope and have a child but Parthavi’s father and brother stay on their tail. What follows is a gut-wrenching tale of love amid the societal challenges of cast and class.
