MUMBAI: While investigating the SSR case, the ED had retrieved chats from Rhea’s phone where she was speaking to Kwan employees about consuming and procuring drugs. Thus, the NCB had come into the picture.
It all began with Jaya Saya’s name, which then led to Karishma Prakash (Deepika Padukone’s manager) and Deepika's names.
The NCB had interrogated both Deepika and her manager under the NDPS act of consuming and procuring drugs. The Piku actress back then denied consuming drugs and having any connection with any narcotics substance.
She was interrogated by the NCB for about 4-5 hours and the agency never summoned her again.
As per media reports, Kwan has released a statement where they have said that Karishma had tendered her resignation on the 21st October 2020 and it was accepted with immediate effect.

Owing to this resignation, Kwan made it very clear that she has no connection with the company or any of the artists that the agency is representing, including Deepika Padukone. They added that the ongoing investigation is an individual questioning.
The company has requested the media to take note of this development while reporting on this issue.
Karishma was summoned by NCB today and was questioned once again. She was the one who had named Deepika along with Jaya. She was associated with the actress since day one, but owing to this issue, they have parted ways.
Kwan and Deepika were named in the Bollywood drug cartel case and the NCB had last said that no clean chit has been given to anyone, though the matter is silent for now.
