Madhur Bhandarkar gifts ‘Gutka’ to Karan Johar

It is already out that Karan Johar has been signed by Dharma Productions for one of its upcoming ventures that is to be directed by Punit Malhotra who had earlier helmed I Hate Luv Storys. But there was a small impediment; the film’s title Gutka was registered under the name of Madhur Bhandarkar. It was only after producer Karan Johar spoke to Bhandarkar regarding the same, the former readily transferred the title on his name. With the glitch out, Johar is all set to start pre-production of the film that would be a two-hero project. So, Akshay will star in the film with Emraan Hashmi. This will be the first time that Akshay Kumar would pair up with Emraan Hashmi. Interestingly, Emraan is also to play the main lead in the joint venture of Johar and Ekta Kapoor. Of late, Johar, in his zest to maximize the activities of his banner is all set to produce nine big films in the ensuing couple of years that include Hasee To Phasee starring Siddharth Malhotra and Parineeti, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein with Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Dostana 2 with Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor in his joint venture with Ekta Kapoor that is to be directed by him.
