MUMBAI : Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar made her acting debut with Samrat Prithviraj which starred Akshay Kumar in the titular role. She once again was seen with Akshay in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which also starred Tiger Shroff and Alaya F. The actress had to undergo a rigorous physical transformation for her role.
Manushi recently revealed, despite being a vegetarian since childhood, she had to turn a non-vegetarian for the film. She revealed the reason saying, “I have always been a vegetarian, my entire life actually, and one thing I told myself was that I would never be able to eat meat simply because I have never eaten meat in my life before. Then came Bade Miyan Chote Miyan… I was shooting for another film at that time and I got Covid. So, I was so scared because I didn’t want to lose weight as I needed to build muscle. My father, who is a doctor, suggested me to switch to meat.”
Manushi further said, “I asked him to make me something which won’t look like chicken. He used to sit on the table and watch me and forcefully make me finish my food.”
Switching to a non-vegetarian diet has helped Manushi shoot in expotic locations for the film. She revealed, “So, we shot for the film in places like Jordan, Scotland, London and in Scotland we didn’t have much vegetarian options so meat was my easiest source of protein.”
Made with a budget of Rs 350 crores, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan managed to make Rs Rs 55.55 crore within 11 days of its release.
On the work front, Manushi will next be seen with John Abraham in Tehran which is directed by Arun Gopalan. The action-thriller will be released later this year.
