Marathi film director Rajeev Patil passes away

Marathi filmmaker Rajeev Patil, who had recently directed a Marathi film for Akshay Kumar is no more. The noted director succumbed to a cardiac arrest at a local hospital of the metropolis yesterday afternoon. While the industry was unaware, Akshay tweeted, “Just heard about the sudden demise of director, Rajeev Patil. He had last directed 72 Miles Ek Pravas for Grazing Goat Pictures. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.” Incidentally, Rajeev came into the public eye when his film Jogwa created waves all over Maharashtra. Patil had won the National award for the best director for Jogwa that also bagged the best film and actor ward. Besides Rajeev had also directed films like Sanai Choughade and Savarkhed Ek Gao. It is heard that the director was planning to remake Jogwa Hindi very soon.
