MUMBAI: Neelam Kothari made her acting debut with Jawaani (1984) opposite debutant Karan Shah. She was also noticed for her appearance in the 1998 film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, where she played herself as a VJ and in the 1999 ensemble family drama Hum Saath Saath Hain in which she played a supporting role. Her last film was the delayed release Kasam in 2001, opposite Chunky Pandey.
Neelam was last seen on the Netflix reality show Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives with Maheep Kapoor, Seema Khan, and Bhavana Pandey.
Neelam was seen taking the botox treatment. The video showcased the actress taking injections in a beauty clinic and the process was shot on camera.
Recently in an interview, Neelam spoke about the botox segment in the show. She said that she feels people make a big deal out of botox and all these procedures. She also said that, 'You are going to age one day and you are going to do stuff to make yourself feel good and look good. I just feel why not."
Neelam added that she told the crew that she was going to take the treatment for the first time and asked them if they want to film it. She said that the team grabbed the opportunity and added, 'what is there to hide?'
She now owns a store in Mumbai called Neelam Kothari Fine Jewels. She is married to film and television actor Samir Soni.
