MUMBAI: 1. One film you wish you had done or could be a part of and why ?
Superboys of Malegaon is the film I saw and felt instantly that this is a film that I’d have loved to be a part of. A story rooted in reality, about passion, art and cinema - I really wish I could’ve been a part of it in any capacity.
2. a bollywood actor you wish to share screen space with ?
I really wanted to work with Irrfan, and now that he’s not with us, that wish will remain unfulfilled.
I’d like to work with Jaideep Ahlawat - to observe and learn how he simply lives his characters with ease, without falling into patterns or bad habits of getting repetitive or performative that we as actors usually fall prey to.
I’d also like to share screen space with Deepika Padukone some day.
3. theater ott tv almost all platforms you have been a part of which medium do you enjoy the most?
All mediums have their own kind of fun to offer, but the thrill and the high that I get when performing on stage is unparalleled. It’s a completely different, exhilarating feeling. You rehearse for weeks and then it’s just you on the stage and the audience in front of you, breathing in tandem with you.
4. does the writer in you ever overtake the actor in you?
I try and not let it happen. But sometimes the writer’s opinion does jump out to guide the actor through some choices that I make while performing a particular scene. But I try and not let the writer part of my brain get too judgemental about the work I do as an actor.
5. one thing youre doing when youre not writing or acting ?
When im not writing or acting, I’m either traveling or reading. When I’m doing none of these, I’m talking about making films and building a life outside the city.
