Nishikant Kamat Health Update: Filmmaker is Critical But Stable, Reveals Hospital Official Statement
MUMBAI: Late last month, Bollywood filmmaker Nishikant Kamat was admitted to hospital in Hyderabad after he was diagnosed with jaundice and abdominal distention. A source close to the filmmaker revealed to SpotboyE exclusively that the filmmaker suffered from Liver Cirrhosis in the past and it has now relapsed. Nishikant made his debut with regional film Dombivali Fast. However in Bollywood Nishikant Kamat is best known for films like Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran led, Drishyam, Irrfan Khan starrer Madaari, Mumbai Meri Jaan, among many others. He has also acted in a few films like Rocky Handsome (2016) starring John Abraham, Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, Fugay and Julie 2.

Recently, hospital authorities released an official statement and said that Nishikant is diagnosed with Chronic Liver Disease and is currently in ICU under observation. Revealing the details, authorities said that he was brought to the hospital on July 31 with ‘jaundice and abdominal distention’. Here is the full statement by the hospital:
“Mr Nishikant Kamat (50 years, Male) was brought to AIG Hospitals, Gachibowli, Hyderabad on 31st July with jaundice and abdominal distention. He has been diagnosed with Chronic Liver Disease and other secondary infections. He is in the intensive care unit for continuous monitoring under supervision of a multi- disciplinary team of senior consultants comprising of Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, Critical Care and others. His condition is critical but stable. We wish him a speedy recovery.”
On the work front, Nishikant Kamat was working upon his upcoming film Darbadar, which is expected to release in 2022.
