No double meaning, no risqué words for Shah Rukh Khan's item song in Prabhu Deva's Chennai Express

Item-boy Shah Rukh Khan may have pulled off all stops for his item songs with Aishwarya Rai in Shakti (remember Ishq kamina?) and with Malaika Arora in Kaal (remember the title song?). Chennai Express
Item-boy Shah Rukh Khan may have pulled off all stops for his item songs with Aishwarya Rai in Shakti (remember Ishq kamina?) and with Malaika Arora in Kaal (remember the title song?). But now for his item song in Chennai Express, Shah Rukh has ordered decorum of the highest order. Says a source, “The original choice to partner Shah Rukh was the Tamil actress Nayantara and Prabhu Deva was to choreograph. But then Shah Rukh wanted far more sobered-down and non-risque movements. Prabhu Deva’s elder brother Raju Sunderam who is a formidable name in choreography and who hardly ever steps into Bollywood, was coaxed to do the item song for Shah Rukh in Chennai Express.” The last time Raju Sunderam did a Bollywood song was to choreograph Shahid Kapoor’s in Kaminey. And partnering Shah Rukh in this special song is Tamil cinema’s Priyamani, who was last seen as Vivek Oberoi’s love-interest in Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakht Charitra. Apparently the song was shot keeping Shah Rukh’s penchant for sobriety in mind. Says the source, “Shah Rukh in any case has a family image. But now with all eyes of the moral police focused on item songs, Shah Rukh won’t even shake a leg if it is anywhere close to raunchy. His brief to Raju Sunderman was to make it fun but not raunchy.” Incidentally Shah Rukh broke his no-kiss clause for the first and last time in Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan. No more kisses for King Khan.
