No More Tears reaches a new milestone, rescuing over 50,000 people from abuse and human trafficking in over 17 years

MUMBAI: Somy Ali’s No More Tears, Inc., has carved a new milestone in its history as recently it has managed to save 50,000 people of all genders from abuse and human trafficking. The small non-profit organization operates out of Miami and works for victims all over the U.S. and globally.

“No More Tears gets a person out of crisis and on the road to a safe existence. Each day is another story that will make your head spin,” Somy said and shared an incident, “I was at the Miami-Dade County Domestic Violence Courthouse with a victim awaiting our turn to have the judge approve a permanent restraining order against her husband. He had broken her arm, and she’s covered in bruises. She was married in Israel and ended up being physically and sexually assaulted for two years. She finally found the courage to call the No More Tears, Inc. hotline.”

“After the restraining order, first divorce, therapy, a safe house, and then a ticket back to her parents in Israel. While she didn't take pictures of several incidents that left her with bruises, we were hoping that when the judge saw her condition, he would grant her a permanent restraining order. After this, I drove her to one of our family law attorneys to see if we could file for divorce here given she was married in Israel,” she added.

She further said that the organization removes a person from a crisis situation and then helps them set foot on the road to a safe and happier life by assisting with a myriad of services, including legal fees, clothing, OBGYN, and other medical assistance, both temporary and permanent housing, therapy, and household necessities.

Somy said, “Every day is a fight. Every day, we rescue people. No More Tears, Inc. wants to spread the word about services and find more donors to keep efforts going. We have hundreds of crisis stories to share.”
