Badshah nervous about stepping into production

Rapper Badshah states that he is excited as well as nervous about producing content.

Called Afterhours, the production house will curate content for digital, film and television platforms alike and would touch upon music, fiction, performing arts, infotainment and culture.

"I am thrilled and nervous to start something new altogether. Production has always enticed me and this is a domain which I have always wanted to explore," said Badshah.

The first show under Afterhour's banner will be a reality-based web series titled Lockdown in collaboration with digital entertainment network One Digital Entertainment with each episode having a run time of 30 minutes.

On the first project, he said, "The first project launching under the banner will be a musical web-series titled Lockdown featuring music icons such as Raftaar, Kailash Kher, Sachin Jigar and Monali Thakur collaborating with digital stars such as Shirley Setia, Jonita Gandhi, Raja Kumari and Mickey Singh. The curated series of musicals will stream on Zee Entertainment's OTT platform Zee 5 that will give the audiences a brand new flavour for consumption. Since One Digital Entertainment has been fruitfully tapping the nerves of content generation in the digital arena, I am looking forward to create some cool content with them."

Gurpreet Singh, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder, One Digital Entertainment, said, "The format will showcase the newer consumption patterns of the audience and be a trend blazer of sorts. Badshah's foresight is very diverse and we are pleased to be an integral part of his entrepreneurial endeavours."

Bappi Lahiri’s desire to collaborate with Elton John

Celebrated music director Bappi Lahiri, who last collaborated with American rapper Snoop Dogg in 2015 for the track Patiala Peg, states that he is working on another international project.

"Something really new and unique is coming up which the world will come to know about. Just to give you a hint, some international stuff is coming up," Bappi, who was feted by London's World Book of Records for his contribution to global music in May for his 1982 song Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Aaja, said.

Without giving out any name of the new collaborator, the Tamma Tamma Loge hitmaker shared that he wishes to collaborate with legendary singer Elton John.

Bappi had dubbed in Hindi for John for the 2017 American film Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which was directed by Matthew Vaughn.

The Indian-talent had also voiced the character of Tamatoa in the Hindi-dubbed version of Disney's animated-fantasy adventure film Moana in 2016.

The artiste, who is lovingly called the Golden Man for flaunting flashy gold chains, had also composed and sung Shona (Gold) -- the Hindi version of Shiny from Moana.

Music tours have kept Bappi busy. His latest gig, titled Yaad Aa Raha Hai Tera Pyar, took place in Mumbai on Friday. The retro night was presented by Panache Media and Mangal Entertainment.

Having performed at so many shows, does he see a shift or change in the kind of audience over the years? "My fans have always been there for me and supported me throughout my concerts worldwide. I am an artiste and artistes never lose fans. The responses have been always the same. I love my fans and they love me more. I have been in the industry for the past 45 years and have fans of all age groups," said the musician, who popularised the use of synthesized disco music in Indian cinema in the 1970s.

Many of his songs have been recreated. Some of the successful ones include Tamma Tamma Again, Zubi Zubi and Raat Baaki.

Asked about the trend, he said, "Old is still gold."

On the music scenario today, Bappi, who is the man behind hit tracks like Super Dancer, Pyar Chahiye and Yaar Bina Chain Kahan Re, said, "It's a digital world and a change is always good. Still, you see everyone is running behind old hit songs and recreating them."

He is now looking forward to three upcoming films - Do Pal Pyaar Ke, Disco Dancing Star and a yet untitled feature film, based on the life of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, for which the singer has given music to as well and also lend his voice to the songs.

Shekhar Kapur wants to direct Kamal Haasan

After working as an actor with Kamal Haasan in Vishwaroopam 2, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has expressed a desire to direct the star.

"All the best Kamal Haasan for Vishwaroopam 2 and thank you for including me in the cast. Despite me being such an awkward actor. But I learned so much from you on the sets. Next time I direct and you act," Kapur tweeted on Monday.

To this, Kamal, who has been busy with his political career, replied, "Thanks, Shekhar Kapur. We have been planning that movie for nearly 35 years. We have to speed up or all we can do is a political documentary. In that case, I won't have to act at all."

Kamal has written, directed and produced Vishwaroopam 2 in which he also plays the lead role of a RAW agent.

The film, which has been delayed over multiple reasons for the past few years, is a sequel to the 2013 film Vishwaroopam.

Set for a release on August 10, the movie has been simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil. A dubbed Telugu version will also come out.

Pankaj to play Hrithik’s nemesis for the second time in Super 30

For versatile actor and National Award recipient, Pankaj Tripathi’s dreams are slowly being fulfilled by the types of films he has been doing in Bollywood. The Masaan actor has been super busy working on multiple projects at the same time for the past few months. Pankaj is exploring all kinds of cinema and doesn't want to limit himself to doing similar kind of roles.

2018 will see him playing an array of different characters that will surely win the hearts of millions who appreciate his work. Out of the entire list of movies that he is working on, the most interesting project is going to be Super 30 where he will be seen playing Hrithik Roshan's nemesis.

Pankaj, after a long hiatus from anti-hero roles and exploring his tryst with comedy, is returning on the screen as a villain. Interestingly, Pankaj will be seen sharing screen space with Roshan Jr. as a villain for the second time. Earlier, both actors were seen together in the 2012 Karan Malhotra helmed film Agneepath, which saw Pankaj playing the sidekick of Sanjay Dutt’s dreaded Kaancha Cheena.

In Super 30, Pankaj will be seen playing the main antagonist opposite Hrithik’s character of the notable Indian mathematician Anand Kumar. There is a whisper on the street that that Pankaj's character will be scarier and has undergone a complete makeover to support his role. Speaking of his role and acting with Hrithik for the second time, Pankaj said, “My character in Super 30 is negative with a very quirky sense of humour. The character has a lot of spontaneity and it was a lot of fun playing him due to that very spontaneity. Working with Hrithik is always a great experience because he is a brilliant actor and an equally superb human being. And owing to the fact that I know Hrithik and we have worked together in the past, there's a comfort level that we share. So it's always an enjoyable experience working with him.”

Well, it would be interesting to see both the talented actors together on-screen after such a long time.
