RGV told me that I am the best actor he has worked with till date - Puneet Singh Ratn

Puneet Singh Ratn who makes his Bollywood debut with Ram Gopal Varma’s Satya 2 is flying high after RGV showered him with a unique and rare compliment. “You are the best actor I have worked with till date,” said RGV to Puneet recently choking the young debutant with emotions. Puneet who had always dreamed of becoming an actor ever since he can remember consider himself to be extremely lucky to have got a dream debut vehicle. “RGV is a genius. His understanding of human philosophy, life and cinema is just marvelous. I will always be indebted to RGV for making me Satya,” says Puneet. Puneet who is originally from Rajasthan had shifted his work base to Mumbai five years back with dreams of making it big in Bollywood. He started out by assisting Prakash Jha in Rajneeti. Although not a trained actor, Puneet says his experience as an assistant director taught him the nuances of cinema and camera. But acting was Puneet's real dream. Unfortunately work was frugal and roles of his liking as an actor were not easily available for Puneet. “I have had offers from other directors but I didn’t want to do those kind of films but my goal was clear about the kind of films I want to do." Finally Satya 2 happened just by sheer luck. Says Puneet, "Boss (RGV) was looking for this character he had designed. I was recommended by a colleague of his who is a writer." Though Puneet has started his journey playing an underworld don, he doesn't think this is will typecast him in anyway. "I am open to all kinds of roles." Satya 2 also sees Puneet romancing the pretty Anaika Soti. But ask about his real life romance, Puneet clamps up. "I am single and focusing on work currently," says Puneet. Now, haven't we heard this line before?
