The controversial chief of Dera Sacha Sauda, Ram Rahim whose upcoming movie, Messenger of God has run into teething troubles with the Censor Board blasted its ex members for their flip flop nature. The self-styled saint was in Mumbai to address a press conference to clear all misnomers associated with the movie.
Addressing men as beta and women as beti, Ram Rahim said, "There is nothing controversial about the film. We are not talking anything derogatory about any God, religion or anything else. Our film deals with the issues plaguing the society like drug abuse, corruption, women safety and other things. When you watch the film you will understand how I have dealt with these issues. There is nothing that will disturb or hurt anyone's personal sentiments."
The film has be cleared by the appellate tribunal FCAT after it was denied clearance by CBFC. Commenting on why the film was denied clearance by CBFC, Rahim said, "The members of the Censor Board said they didn't understand the film and hence it was referred to the higher authority. Also, they had asked me to change a single line in the movie. Nothing else was really objected to."
Blasting the CBFC members for later resigning and pinning the blame on MSG, Rahim said , "What should I say about these members. From what I have heard they first said they are resigning because of my film, then later they said it's because of corruption and then later they blamed the government for political interference. I don't know how they function and can't comment but all I can say is that if a district court passes an order which is overturned by the highcourt which in turn gets overturned by our country's highest court then all I can say is that the decision becomes binding on you. If a lower authority challenges the decision of the higher authority then it creates a mockery of the entire system. I think they are unhappy that what they wanted to achieve they couldn't."
The self-styled guru will also be seen doing stunts in the movie which he says were necessary to terminate the social menace that they have showcased in the movie. As of now the makers haven't locked a release date of the movie yet. When asked about his release plans, the guru replied, "My guruji Shahstramji Maharaj conducts a bhandara between 24 to 27 and we all partake in it. So we will not be able to release it then. I and my producers will look at a favourable date after 27 and release accordingly."
MSG has created a viral craze with the trailer registering more than 2 million hits on YouTube earning Ram Rahim the moniker 'rockstar'. When we asked the Dera Chief if he was happy with him being called 'rockstar', Rahim smiled and said, "I have no problems with me being called rockstar or any other word. I am just a human being. I am here to serve people and not here to gain any benefit for myself. Through my film too, I am promoting positive things and hence you will see me doing whatever I am in the film. It is for a reason."
The guru also said that denied reports of the presence any romance in the movie. "It is a clean movie and all the women actors are like my children. Everyone can watch the film."
Well, let's wait and see when the makers will finally release the movie. Sources say that they are targeting 30th January as the date would give them a much more favourable window in terms of screen space.
