With reference to Sanjay Dutt’s application seeking a six-month extension of his 18 April surrender deadline, the Supreme Court has given the actor another four weeks time to complete his films before returning to jail. The judges, who were responding to Dutt’s appeal said their decision was on humanitarian grounds. “We extend the time by four weeks from tomorrow. It is made clear that no further extension will be granted," the judges remarked. On Monday, while filing the application for a six-month extension, Dutt had said that seven films with a budget of Rs 278 crores were under various stages of production and it needed 196 acting days to complete. Dutt is currently working in double shifts to wrap up the three projects on hand before surrendering himself. The three films that he has on hand are P.K besides Zanjeer and Policegiri. Besides, Dutt, who was to make a cameo appearance in his upcoming home production Hasmukh Pighal Gaya, will be happy that he would be able to shoot his part before his surrender. The film is being directed by Sejal Shah and has a bunch of newcomers. It is already known that Dutt's close friends Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan would also do cameos in the film. The Supreme Court, which recently upheld his conviction in the 1993 Mumbai bombings reduced his imprisonment from six to five years. The actor has already served 18 months in jail and has to spend three years and six months more to complete the sentence.
