MUMBAI: ‘Metro...इन दिनों’ is all set to release in cinemas on 4th July 2025
‘Metro...इन दिनों’ is one of the most anticipated films of the year. A film produced by Bhushan Kumar and Anurag Basu, it is set across India’s bustling metro cities and explores heartfelt stories of love, connection, and second chances in today’s fast-paced world. The film marks the final chapter in Basu’s hyperlinked relationship trilogy, following Life in a... Metro and Ludo. Among its many layered narratives, one of the most awaited relationships is that of Neena Gupta and Konkona Sensharma’s characters, that of mother and daughter, a role Konkona described as deeply special, both personally and professionally.
Talking about her experience of working with Neena Ji, Konkona shared, “I loved working with Neena Gupta. She's such a legend. She's an icon! I've always been such a fan of hers. Her personality, her fashion style, the way she's lived her life, and of course, her performances. I was thrilled to be playing her daughter.”
Reflecting on their working dynamic, she added, “She’s very understanding, and her attention to detail is amazing. We had a couple of intense scenes together, and she always looked out for me even off the set. She would give me little feedback here and there, and I always felt very comfortable around her. We had worked once on a film about 20 years ago, which sadly never released, and once on an ad. But this time we actually had the space to build a relationship and an emotional arc between our characters. I really enjoyed it.”
With its soulful music, real stories, and heartfelt performances, Metro...इन दिनों’ is already being loved by audiences. The film features an ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona SenSharma, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta, and Saswata Chatterjee.
