MUMBAI: Sonakshi Sinha referred to her husband Zaheer Iqbal as “the greenest flag ever” following the actor carrying Sonakshi's heels. Sonakshi posted a video of the couple walking through an apartment block on her Instagram story. Zaheer held the actress's footwear for her convenience.
"When you marry the greenest flag ever," Sonakshi posted on her Instagram story. A collection of emojis with tears in them appeared after the caption. After dating for seven years, Sonakshi and Zaheer recently got married last month.
On June 23, 2024, Sonakshi Sinha tied the knot with Zaheer Iqbal. At the former's home in Bandra, the pair held a private ceremony. Sonakshi sent a touching note and posted some photos to social media following the wedding.
“Whattttt a day!!!! The love, the laughter, the togetherness, the excitement, the warmth, the support from every one of our friends, families and teams… it was like the universe came together for two people in love to give them exactly what they’ve always hoped, wished and prayed for ❤️ If this is not divine intervention… we don’t know what is ✨ We are both truly blessed to have each other and so much love protecting us,” she wrote.
On Thursday, the Bollywood actress took to her Instagram handle to drop the wedding video which shares several glimpses from their civil marriage. In the clip, Sonakshi and Zaheer participate in the wedding rituals as their family members and friends cheer for them. Sonakshi’s parents Shatrughan and Poonam were also seen standing by her side.
Actor Siddharth was spotted cheering the bride and groom as some of the guests were heard signing "Sona kitna sona hai." "Shaadi ho gayi," Sonakshi said, to which her friends clapped "Jija ji aa gaye." As the love of her life gave her a hug and a kiss, Sonakshi was also spotted getting emotional. “Family, friends, love, friendship, laughter, silly comments, kids running around, happy tears, excitement, bloopers, screeches, fun, joy, anticipation, nerves, emotions and above all just pure happiness this was our chaotic little Shaadi ka ghar… and it was PERFECT… it was US,” Sonakshi noted in the video's caption.
Sonakshi and Zaheer dated for seven years before deciding to move their relationship even more. The couple married in an intimate ceremony and then hosted a lavish reception for their friends in the film industry.
At the star-studded celebration for Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, several celebs came, including Salman Khan, Kajol, Vidya Balan, Rekha, Huma Qureshi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aditya Roy Kapur, Tabu, and Anil Kapoor.
