There has been much speculation about Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees clashing with his foe-turned-friend Salman Khan’s Sultan on Eid. When reports came out about the movie being shifted to the Diwali slot, the fans of Karan and Arjun of Bollywood heaved a sigh of relief.
But looks like the movie has been further postponed to 2017 to avoid a clash with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay, states a popular site. Since all the holiday spots have already been taken up by other bigwigs, SRK has no choice but to postpone his flick, the site adds.
According to an industry insider, “Shah Rukh is looking to postpone his film to 2017. He wants the date, January 26. But there is another film on that date. Hrithik Roshan’s home production Kaabil, directed by Sanjay Gupta. SRK has had a word with the Roshans. There are not many choices left. And he cannot indefinitely postpone the film. He has to take a call soon.”
The site adds that July 29 and August 12 were also considered for Raees but due to other flicks releasing on that date, SRK’s movie was moved to its traditional Diwali slot. But Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay and Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil are slotted for that day.
It’s a good thing the flick is not going head-to-head with Shivaay because who can forget the epic battle between SRK and Ajay Devgn when their respective movies fought it out at the screens in 2012. While both Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son of Sardar were hits, there was much mud-slinging and war or words between the two camps. Phew. We don’t want a repeat of that, do we?
