Stree 2: Rajkummar Rao recalls improvising the iconic and hilarious climax scene of confronting the witch by Shah Rukh Khan’s touch; 'In theaters, people were going nuts'

MUMBAI : In the 2018 movie Stree, Rajkummar Rao played Vicky, and you might recall being asked to look into a witch's eyes "Uski aankho mein dekho... ankho mein...Pyar ke bhooki hai wo pyaar se dekho.". Shah Rukh Khan was connected in the funny climax moment. The way the Stree actor replicated SRK by staring into her eyes is known to those who have seen the original. Shah Rukh's facial expressions served as an inspiration for Rajkummar Rao as he imitated the famous scene in Stree.

Rajkummar Rao revealed in his most recent YouTube conversation with Raj Shamani that the actor always requests the authors to create a "playground" for him.

Rao said that having Stree in front of him was like having a "playground" for him, using the famous Stree climax sequence as an example. He is asked to look lovingly into the witch's eyes, even though his character finds her presence terrifying.

Rajkummar Rao, who is a fan of Shah Rukh Khan, further expressed that men in our nation remember King Khan whenever they think about love. Rao shared that he "improvised" the scene while showing the facial expression of the superstar. The Stree 2 actor continued that Vicky is shown as a small-town guy who has watched films while growing up.

"Toh wahan pe maine improvise kiya (I improvised it there) which people cracked up laughing. In theaters, people were going nuts over that scene. It's an improvised scene," Rao added.

Rajkummar Rao lauded Amar Kaushik, stating that the director allows actors to try new things on the set regardless of what's written in the script. However, Kaushik talks about it every time the scene doesn't work out, Rao continued.

Rajkummar Rao expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan during the Stree 2 promotions in a recent interview with a popular news portal, calling the actor the "epitome of romance". Rao further stated that he is a "die-hard romantic at heart" and that he would like to appear in romantic film projects.

On August 15, 2024, Stree 2, the Stree sequel, was released in theatres. At the box office, the recently released film competed alongside Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein.
