MUMBAI: The eagerly anticipated horror comedy Stree 2 debuted in theaters on August 15 and has since garnered fantastic reviews from both reviewers and viewers. The movie, which is helmed by Amar Kaushik, is a follow-up to the hugely popular 2018 film Stree. Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana are among the star-studded ensemble. The film had a great opening weekend at the box office and is still going strong, with global box office receipts approaching Rs300 crore. Three movies conflicted with it: Double iSmart, Vedaa, and Khel Khel Mein.
Despite the overwhelming positive reception Stree 2 is receiving from viewers, some have voiced reservations about some characters' scant screen time. Despite playing a significant role in the movie, several fans have noted that Shraddha Kapoor appears on screen less frequently. It also seems like Aparshakti Khurana has a smaller role in the second half, which disappointed several fans.
In a recent interview, Amar Kaushik talked about these issues. The Stree 2 director stated that Aparshakti's character's brief screen time was purposeful and in line with the requirements of the screenplay. Even Abhishek Banerjee's Jana makes an appearance in the story forty minutes in, according to Kaushik. Because Sarkata has hypnotized Khurana, his character appears less in the second part.
Some fans complained that Shraddha Kapoor had limited screen time. In response to this Amar said, “Lekin agar Shraddha zyada dikhti, toh jis tarah ki entry ki usne, uska impact nahin hota.”
