MUMBAI: Amitabh Bachchan, one of the biggest superstars in the country, is aging like fine wine, has a massive fan following. Amitabh Bachchan revealed during one of the old interviews that he used to sleep on Marine Drive and was totally sure to survive driving a cab if never got the opportunity to be an actor.
The ‘Runway 34’ actor disclosed that when he came to Mumbai, he got opportunities to feature in ads but he turned them down because he felt ‘awkward’. He told, “There were opportunities then, too, when ad agencies approached me. I was offered Rs 10,000 for an ad, which was huge money since I was earning Rs 50 a month doing radio spots. But I felt doing an ad would take something away from me and I just resisted the temptation.”
The Jhund actor then further said that he came to Mumbai with a driving license and would have become a cab driver if he couldn’t make it as an actor. “I came to Bombay with a driving license, and that’s about it. It said if I don’t become an actor, I will drive a cab.”
Even at the age of 79, the actor comes up with different movies where he can be seen taking up challenging and unconventional roles. He will be next seen starring in Jhund, Brahmastra, Project K, Runway 34, The Intern, Goodbye, Uunchai and others.
